METEOROLOGICAL RAIN- & SNOW GAUGE
RAIN-O-MATIC
SNOW is a self emptying and frostproof rain gauge.
RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW consists of an outdoor rain collector, ready for connection to a counter, data logger or computer.
It is possible to collect the rain for a check weighing.
The basic idea in RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW is the rain collector’s measuring spoon being automatically tipped and emptied when the pre-adjusted water weight has been reached.
RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW is ideal for:

Wanting a very accurate registration of rain water
The spoon is fitted with a magnet being kept in position
by an anchor. This implies that the spoon is emptied by
a quick tip returning immediately to initial position
for collection of a new portion of water.
The tipping spoon and it’s magnet controlled suspension
is designed in a way which makes the measuring accurate
even if the rain collector should not be exactly horizontally
mounted.
RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW is basically of the same construction
as RAIN-O-MATIC METEOROLOGICAL with the same specifications.
The snow gauge consists of an outdoor collector ready for connection to a counter, data logger or computer. It is also fitted with power supply for the electronic adjusting heating of the collector.
RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW’s outdoor collector contains the necessary components for collection, melting and measuring of precipitation.
RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW is insulated and fitted with a heating system including the necessary adjusting equipment to melt the collected snow and to keep the collector frost free.
The funnel in the collector is made of copper in order to obtain an optimal combination af weather resistance and heat conduction.
The sensors in the funnel and the heating system secure that the temperature do not come lower than +5 ° C
In the compartment under the copper funnel the electronic heating unit as well as the self tipping automatic is installed. This compartment is kept heated at 20° C by a separate heating unit, adjusted by an electronic thermostat.
RAIN-O-MATIC METEOROLOGICAL and RAIN-O-MATIC SNOW are
troublefree and extremely reliable.
The collector can be supplied with pylon, stabilizing
cross and earth spear. Stabilizing cross and earth spear
measure 63 cm. Tube length between collector and stabilizing
cross can be supplied in requested lengths.

RAIN-O-MATIC has been tested by the The Danish Ministry of Agriculture, State Field Experiment, Research Center Foulum and has been found among the most accurate rain gauges in the world.

Ideal curve The rain gauge is very precise and has for instance an
intensity of
3mm/0,12 inch per minute at a calibration of 0,25 mm or
1/100 inch.
RAIN-O-MATIC SNOWL is reliable and stable. A re-calibration can be done by an adjusting screw.

MATERIAL
The external parts is made in STYROSUN, which has passed the Arizona test.
STYROSUN is a very endurable and weatherproof material resisting extreme frost and heat temperatures as well as the sun’s UV radiation.
The funnel is made of copper.
PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD
The collector is mounted with Printed Circuit Board with a terminalstrip and 2 reed switches ( 1 pc. is Normally Closed and 1 pc. is Normally Open ), with 2 connections for LCD counter and for connection to datalogger / computer.
